Louise Trotter’s first major handbag campaign for Bottega Veneta turns five bags into something much more personal.
Called IL MIO, the series is photographed by Drew Vickers and explores the relationship between a handbag and the person who chooses it. The title translates as “what belongs to me”, setting the tone for a campaign that treats the bag as more than an accessory or status symbol.
The featured designs include the Mini Andiamo, Lauren 1980, Madison, Baby Campana and Baby Barbara. Together, they bring different parts of Bottega Veneta’s language into focus, from Intrecciato craftsmanship to silhouettes rooted in the house archive.
What makes the campaign work is its sense of intimacy. The bags are shown as objects that are carried, used and gradually shaped by the lives around them, pieces to collect, live with and eventually pass on.
It is a quieter kind of luxury, built not around the moment of purchase, but around everything that happens afterwards.
